On Friday Anne and I will be leading you on an Autumn walk, the plan is to take you through woodland around the lower part of the Ladybower Reservoir.
The walk is 4 miles long with no stiles. An initial descent on a gravel path (sticks might be handy here) will be followed by a steady ascent up the side of the Ladybower woods to get better views (it is not difficult). The views through the woodlands are glorious and for such a short walk there will be plenty of time to stop and admire the scenery and take photos – we will of course be providing a sunny day to make it even more attractive! We will descend through the woods, after our coffee stop, and walk back on a flat path.
The short walkers can start with the main group and, instead of descending on the footpath, they can cross the reservoir and view the water levels, which are still very low. The two plugholes on each bank of the water are completely exposed. On a trial walk earlier this year Anne and I saw water board engineers using drones to inspect the insides of the plugholes.
We will be lunching at the Yorkshire Bridge Inn and we can park in lower car park of the Inn while we walk and eat.
