Start : Edensor, park anywhere in the village.
10am
DE45 1PH.

Walk : A 5 mile hike mainly on the Chatsworth estate. We take the track at the back of the village, uphill but not too steep , to the public road between the farm shop and Bakewell.
I think some resurfacing has taken place – it’s not as rough as I remember it. We head up the road for half a mile to Ballcross farm, where we turn left into the estate and a coffee stop. This is the highest point (900 feet).

Next follows an easy walk on grass for a mile to Lady Manners wood with extensive views on our left. A left turn takes us steeply down to Calton Houses and on past the Russian cottage.
We then descend for the final mile to the village.

Lunch : Drive to the Wheatsheaf, Baslow. All being well, Barrie will have arranged with the pub for us to sit together (12 places as a yardstick).
We will order food on arrival.

You are welcome to let me know you are coming (or not) but there is no specific need.
