The walk will start in Hathersage at the usual time of 10.am.
It is about 4.5 miles, with some uphill sections but not a challenging walk and with some extensive views.
We will meet and start from Oddfellows Road Car Park, Oddfellows Road, Hathersage, Hope Valley, S32 1DU. (OS map reference SK 231 814).
Park in the pay and display car park on Oddfellows Road, or you may find a place on the local roads.
The route takes us into the village and onto Baulk Lane. We will continue to follow this track up the valley by Hood Brook, passing Brookfield Manor, and crossing a road at Bronte Cottage into fields
The path takes us into woods and a very pleasant coffee stop by the Brook.
We continue up and east into fields with very fine views.
We return to the village on tracks and field paths via North lees House, Cow Close, Hathersage Parish Church and Little John’s grave.
Lunch will be at The Plough Inn, Hathersage, S32 1BA, 1pm as usual.
